I've worked in restaurants for a long time, I work in one now. Business lately has been proof that people aren't spending the kind of money that they used to on going out to eat. This has it's pros and cons of course. I want you to come out to eat because that's how I get paid. Honestly there are just some people who aren't willing to learn to cook. "I can't even boil water!" is what they say, I don't really believe that but to each their own. The fact is less and less women are learning to cook from their mothers or grandmothers, all the qualities that used to define women have changed with the times.

There is however a lot of joy to be had cooking at home and it really isn't difficult, I was cooking at a very young age and not in the microwave. If a child under the age of ten can do it then you should be able to do it too. Everyone should know how to make at least one dish from scratch, that means no jars of sauces, no rice that cooks in the microwave and absolutely no pre-cooked "meat" products. The Food Network has done great things for food over the last decade however some people take from it that food has to be a more complicated, exact science than it really is.
Cooking isn't an exact science, that's what separates the cooks from the bakers. It's fun, far cheaper than eating out and has the ability to redefine your family/date night, whichever applies at the time. I plan on proving all these points to you over a continuing series of blogs and I want your input on what you would like to see in them. I'm going to start including videos to help teach you techniques and other things that you just can't pick up from reading them. So fire up those emails and let me know what you would like to see show up on here, thesebites.@gmail.com
